Be part of the build.

A solar car is thousands of parts. Behind every one is a student with an idea, and someone who helped make it happen.

Targets come from our 2026–2027 budget and cover what we need to buy. Parts we expect sponsors to donate are listed separately below.

Confirmed Pledged Share of season budget
The projects

Small parts. Big possibilities.

Pick a project, a purchase, or a shared essential. Any amount helps, and several supporters can back the same part.

For companies

Sponsor a part directly.

These parts and materials are in our budget as sponsor donations. If your company makes or sells any of them, a product donation covers the line in full.

From your gift to the grid

A little support. A long way forward.

01

Pick your part.

Choose a system or project. You can cover part of its cost or give toward the whole car.

02

Send your pledge.

Fill in the pledge form and email it to our team. We follow up to arrange payment and answer your questions.

03

Watch it light up.

Your pledge lights up cells on the array once our team reviews it. It moves to confirmed when payment is received.

A few things to know.

Can I give less than the cost of a part?

Yes. You can give any amount from $1, and several supporters can fund the same part together.

Do I have to put my name on the website?

No. Public recognition is optional. Leave the box unchecked and you are listed as an anonymous supporter. Your name and contact details are only used by our team to follow up on your pledge.

When will my gift appear?

Our team reviews every pledge, usually within a few days, before it shows as pledged on the array. Once payment is confirmed it moves to confirmed without being counted twice.

Can my employer match my donation?

Many employers run matching-gift programs. Check with yours and tell us before arranging payment so we can help with the right giving route.

Could my donation be tax deductible?

It may be, depending on how you give and your circumstances. The value of any supporter benefits you receive may affect the deductible amount. Ask our team about giving options and receipts when we follow up.

How do I arrange payment?

Send your pledge to contact@longhornracing.org and our team will work out payment with you. No payment is collected on this website.

What is a stretch goal?

Projects marked as stretch goals are in our budget but are not essential to race this season. Gifts to them go further once the essentials are covered.

What do the sponsor-donated parts mean?

Some budget lines are covered by companies donating product, such as circuit boards, connectors, and wire. Those lines are listed under “Sponsor a part directly” and are not part of the cash goals.
